World War II veteran
Services were at Johnson Romito Funeral Home April 6, for Bernard E. Goodyear Jr. Mr. Goodyear, 86, a resident of the Macedonia and Northfield areas since 1963 died April 3, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Goodyear served in the Army during World War II, and was retired from General Electric Nela Park, where he worked as an electrical engineer. He enjoyed golf and most especially remodeling houses.
He was preceded in death by his wife Blanche E. (nee Whitman) in 1994, sons, Bernard E. Goodyear III and Jack Goodyear, sister, Elizabeth Moyer and brothers, Harry and Clarence Goodyear.
He was the father of Barbara (Michael) Hodanbosi of Macedonia, and the brother of Catherine (Bill) Ray of Pennsylvania and Mildred Roberson of Maryland. He was the grandfather of Melissa (Michael) Paruleski, Sara Hodanbosi and Timothy Hodanbosi.
Burial was at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, 44119-1330.
