GARFIELD HEIGHTS WELCOMES BROADWAY FAVORITE "BYE BYE BIRDIE" It’s the late 1950’s, Rock-n-Roll has taken over the country and one of the hottest artists of the time, Conrad Birdie, is being drafted into the Army. With Conrad’s impending induction his management team can’t resist the opportunity for a publicity stunt, but what? The answer is simple, why not create a contest for one lucky girl to receive that “One Last Kiss” from Conrad, on the Ed Sullivan Show no less, before he heads off to war. What could possibly go wrong? Harken back to a simpler time when the penultimate feel good musical Bye Bye Birdie perches itself on the Garfield Performing Arts Center stage. Winner of four Tony awards, including Best Musical, Bye Bye Birdie, a stage musical with a book by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams, and music by Charles Strouse will be presented by the Garfield Players from June 10th through the 19th. Featuring the classics “Put on a Happy Face”,”Kids”,“Spanish Rose”, “A Lot a Livin To Do”, “Rosie “ and “One Last Kiss” this is sure to be a delight for any member of the family. Tickets for the show are now available online (at http://garfieldplayers.org), by calling the box office ticket line at 216.475.8313, and also at the door the night of the show. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and students ages 14-18, and $10 for children 13 and under. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. (with the exception of Sunday, June 12, when the theatre will be "dark") Groups of 10 or more should contact the box office ticket line for group rates.
