Sagamore Hills resident
Services were April 14 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church for Sagamore Hills resident Edna "Dolly" Basel. The Rev. Ralph Wiatrowski officiated. Mrs. Basel, 99, died April 9, 2009, at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights. She had lived in Sagamore Hills for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Basel was employed by the Nordonia Hills School Board, where she worked in the maintenance department. She was a member of St. Barnabas Church and loved flowers and prayer.
Mrs. Basel was the daughter of George and Theresa (Walsh) Bell. She was the wife of Harold, who died in 1975. She was the mother of Rick (Dona) Basel of Sagamore Hills and the grandmother of Mandy Basel of Cleveland and Kristin (Gary) Brown of Carnation, Wash.
Arrangements were handled by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery.
