Catholics Returning Home program offered

St. Barnabas Parish is conducting an ongoing series called Catholics Returning Home on seven consecutive Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in Rectory Room 1 until Feb. 18.

Catholics who have not attended mass regularly, but are seeking to deepen their faith and learn more about the church, are welcome to attend one or all sessions. There will be informal sharing and an update of the Catholic faith. Participants are encouraged to invite a friend or family member to join. For more details, call 330-467-7959.

Gospel House examines life, death, hope

The Gospel House Church, 14707 Alexander Road in Walton Hills, confronts the issues of life, death and hope in the production Heaven's Gates and Hell's Flames. It will be presented nightly Feb. 8 to 10 at 7 p.m.

Admission is free and child care will be provided.

Mt. Zion celebrates Inaguration Day

The Mt. Zion Church & Fine Arts Center of Oakwood Village, One Mt. Zion Circle, will host a symposium in celebration of President-Elect Obama's Inauguration Jan. 20 at 7p.m. There will be a one-hour reception open to the community prior to the program.

Several community speakers, including Jonathan Holifield, president of the Cleveland Urban League, will be at Mt. Zion, along with choirs and others. There will be clips of the Inauguration and of President Obama on video. There will also be a special presentation in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr.

The event is free and attire is business casual.
