GERALD A. SUTTON Veteran, Bedford High School graduate Services were July 30 for Gerald Alan Sutton, 76, of Aurora, who died July 27, 2008. Born May 10, 1932 in Cleveland, he was the son of Gertrude and Oliver Sutton. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1950 and attended Kent State University. He was a paramedic in the U.S. Army during the Koran Conflict and earned several commendations, including the Bronze Medal of Honor. He married Barbara Rudd in 1955, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2005. In 1960, he founded A Bee C Service and was president and CEO. The firm later became Service-Tech Corp. Mr. Sutton was active in philanthropic and service organizations such as the YMCA and Rotary Club of Cleveland, for whom he served as honorary president. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of Canterbury Golf Club, where he was director of parking and transportation for several major tournaments. He also belonged to Plantation Golf Club in Venice, Fla., and enjoyed tennis, bowling and boating on Lake Erie and the Gulf of Mexico. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and a season ticket holder for the Indians and Browns. In addition to his wife, survivors include his son Alan (Sue) Sutton; and grandchildren Jaime and Daniel.
