Bookworms are invited

Children in grades K-4 and their favorite grown-ups may join a book discussion for lots of fun.

Pick up the current book at the library before the discussion on May 1 at 7 p.m. There will be another session on June 5.

Fun Day arrives in May

On May 2 at 10:30 a.m., join in a program for preschoolers, their parents and friends. Registration is required.

Read with your heroes

On May 6 at 10:30 a.m. enjoy a special storytime with members of the Maple Heights Fire Department. Then tour a real fire truck. Please register.

That's my Momma

Join storyteller extraordinaire Jennifer Johnson on May 10 at 2 p.m. for an afternoon of funny folk tales about magnificent moms and glorious grandmas. Children will also create a Mother's Day card. Please register.

Learn about
summer reading

Join us May 8 at 6:30 p.m. as a children's librarian talks about the library's summer reading program and why it's important for your children to keep reading over the summer.

Get a sneak peek at this year's summer reading game, "Imagine and Explore."

Animanga
club to meet

On May 7 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., the Maple Heights Animanga Club will conduct a Pokémon Monopoly tournament.

Come join the fun at the library.

Teens register now
for summer camp

On Aug. 4 through 8 from 1 to 4 p.m., teens age 12 to 15 are invited to investigate shipwrecks, robotics in underwater archaeology and deep-water science.

Hands-on activities will introduce remotely-operated vehicles, shipwrecks of Lake Erie, scuba diving and more. Real explorers will share their adventures.

The camp is free, but space is limited, so register early.

Adult book lovers wanted

The library offers two book discussions each month.

Join a lively discussion of a current book in a friendly atmosphere.

The morning book discussion group will meet May 12 at 10 a.m. to discuss "Light on Snow" by Anita Shreve.

The evening discussion will be on May 19 at 7:15 p.m. to discuss "For One More Day" by Mitch Albom.
