Lenten fish fry season continues

Lenten fish fry season at area locations continues. The schedule includes:

* American Legion Post 309, 15521 Broadway Ave., Maple Heights, will conduct fish fries each Friday through March 21 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Selections include fish, shrimp and combo dinners with a choice of French fries, macaroni and cheese, or cabbage and noodles. Dinners come with cole slaw, rolls and butter. Dine-in and take-out orders are available.

* Holy Trinity Church, 24821 Columbus Road, Bedford Heights, will conduct fish fries each Friday through March 14 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

The menu includes fish, shrimp, combo meals, macaroni and cheese, pierogi, cole slaw, applesauce, various soups and dessert.

There are sit-down dinners, a la carte items and carry-out.

* St. Andrew Church on Maple Park Drive in Maple Heights is planning fish fries on March 7 and 21, and April 4 and 18 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Selections include crispy cod with pierogi or French fries, pierogi dinners, shrimp dinners or combos. Take-out is available.

* St. Mary Church, 300 Union St., Bedford, will conduct its fish fries each Friday through March 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The menu includes fish, shrimp, clams, pierogi, cabbage and noodles, and macaroni & cheese. There are sit-down dinners, a la carte items, carry-out and a kids menu.

'Operation Baby' proceeding
at Bedford First United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Women's Association at Bedford First United Methodist Church is helping the USO of Northern Ohio with Operation Baby to provide baby sea bags for new military moms. These bags are a great way to thank military families for their sacrifices.

Donations of items or money are being sought from churches, businesses, families and individuals.

Items needed include blankets, wipes, towel sets, sleepers, small toys, rattles, pacifiers, pacifier holders, new clothes, diapers, bath soap, lotions, baby powder, T-shirts, bibs, baby bottles, twin outfits, booties and socks.
