Carousel Dinner Theatre recently had the opportunity to bring back one of its popular stars. Patrick McRoberts ("The Buddy Holly Story") will return to the Carousel in the fall production of "Pump Boys and Dinettes," which will replace the originally slated musical "Crazy for You."
"Pump Boys and Dinettes" (Aug. 29 through Oct. 27) will be directed by Carousel's artistic director Sean Cercone. Cercone had a successful run of the show in fall 2006 at the Stow Players. He stated, "This is a show that our audience will love, full of great music and with an intimacy that our audiences have come to rave about. This is an exciting opportunity to bring our audiences a new show, never before seen on the Carousel stage, and bring back an audience favorite, Patrick McRoberts."
Audiences may remember Patrick McRoberts from the "The Buddy Holly Story" in Carousel's summer 2006 production. McRoberts is a Canton native and Perry High graduate. He starred as Chris in Miss Saigon on Broadway and in Cleveland, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vancouver, Denver and Detroit. As Buddy he has starred in the National Tour and Regionally. In the role of Jim in "Pump Boys and Dinettes," he will play an acoustic and electric guitar.
Tickets are on sale now for "Pump Boys and Dinettes." Show times are Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:30 p.m., and Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. Matinees are Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. (including a special Friday matinee Aug. 32 and a Thursday matinee on October 25). Ticket prices range from $33.50 to $55, plus a processing fee.
Group discounts are always available for parties of 20 or more through the Carousel Group Sales Department. The Carousel can also accommodate pre- or post-show receptions in our private banquet facilities.
